New Jelt Color: Bronze is Now Khaki Green
In Celebration of Earth Week, we are proud to introduce our newest color to the Jelt family, Bronze - now our Khaki Green Elastic Belt
Inspired by earth tones, this new color is a greenish brown with a bronze painted non-metal buckle that looks great with jeans and khakis. Our customers love our retro-vibe but have voiced they want more solid colors for daily wear. We listened! We feel that this new Bronze color Khaki Green Elastic Belt is the perfect fit for our line and for our loyal customers. It’s fun, Montana-inspired, AND functional.
During the design phase, we wanted to select a color that would easily compliment multiple styles, but also represent the colors of Montana. Earth tone colors come from natural things around us: brown soil, green leaves, blue skies, and golden mountain ranges. These palettes can create a warm, nature-friendly environment. With this in mind and the shift of the seasons, our Bronze color Khaki Green Elastic Belt was born.
We decided to launch the new Bronze color Khaki Green Elastic Belt on the eve of Earth Day to remind our customers that our goal is to make a difference with our brand. Jelt was established as a social enterprise whose mission is to give back to our community, to veterans, to families, and to environmental causes.
WE ARE WORKING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Use of recycled water bottles:
Nearly every pound of plastic humanity has ever produced is still here, and as long as we make more of it, the amount of plastic in our oceans, streets, and landfills will only grow. This issue doesn’t come with an exact solution, but there is one thing we know for sure: The most simple and powerful solution we have available to us today is to use the plastic that is already on the planet. This where the use of Post-Consumer Plastic comes into play.
Every belt we introduce, no matter the color, is made from 100% recycled water bottles. No fast-fashion here. Post-consumer recycled plastic from these water bottles makes sense from a scientific standpoint and creates greater positive impact than other choices. The carbon footprint of manufacturing Post-consumer plastic, like in a water bottle, is 60% lower than normal plastic. By using PCR, we eliminate the need for new plastic, which is especially important given the current low rates of recycling.
We will need to be A LOT better at getting the material we use back after we’re done with it to create post-consumer products. This has to be done by social enterprise companies who are willing to pay more to create products made with recycled materials, and as importantly, by the consumer who needs to realize that paying slightly more for a product that is made sustainably is essential. By focusing on meticulous design and sustainable materials, we hope to educate and create a community of people who care where their belt comes from.
1% for the Planet Partnership:
As 1% for the Planet partners, Jelt donates at least 1% of our annual profits to organizations recognized as 1% for the Planet non-profit partners. This includes The Greater Yellowstone Coalition, an organization helping to sustain the beauty of America’s first national park.
1% for the Planet is a global network of businesses, nonprofits, and individuals working together for a healthy planet. Their mission is to bring dollars and doers together to accelerate smart environmental giving. Through this partnership, we can directly give back to the environment and causes that are important to us as Montanans and Americans.
“Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from books.” — John LubbockOur goal at Jelt is to be a business used as a source for good.
