What’s the difference between the three styles of Jelt belts?
All of our Jelt brand belts are made in Montana, U.S. Our elastic stretch eco-friendly belts are made from recycled plastic bottles and have our signature inner grippy gel, designed to hold on tight and move with you.
The sized-to-fit Jelt Originals feature a unique round buckle that snaps into place. It is slimmest, narrowest and most low profile of the three Jelt styles. A modern-retro belt that works well with jeans and shorts, it features a super flat design that will not leave a bulge under fitted shirts. This no-show elastic belt is 1.25” wide and is not adjustable, but instead comes in four sizes made to fit you comfortably throughout any activity or adventure.
The JeltX is an adjustable belt with a magnetic buckle that practically closes itself. The stretchy elastic is slightly thicker than the Jelt original and is designed to hold up jeans, bike shorts, golf pants and more. It also looks great on work trousers. The JeltX has been a bestseller for many years. It is 1.25” wide and fits up to waist 45”.
The Jelt Venture is our latest belt to hit the market. It is wider, stronger and stiffer than the Jelt original and JeltX. The Venture features an elasticized webbing made to hold up the heaviest pants, outdoor gear and work pants. It comes with two different buckle choices: Jelt stamped or a Mountain Graphic. It is 1.5” wide and fits up to 50” waist.
Is 45”/ 50” my pant size, or the size of the belt?
The dimensions of our belts are located on our size chart. The sizes refer to the length of the belt and how much it stretches, not pant size or waist size. For example, a man who wears size 36 pants could have a 41” waist. A woman who wears size 31 jeans might have a 40” waist.
To be sure you are getting the correct size, check out our tips on how to measure belt size. Be sure to measure your waist wherever you want to wear your belt and follow the sizing of the belt length on the size chart. If you get the wrong size, there’s no need to worry as we offer free exchanges and returns on all of our products.
Which size of the Original belt should I buy if I’m in between sizes?
This is always a hard question for us to answer. If you like your belt to grip tight, then go with the size smaller. It’s hard to get used to at first, but eventually, you will forget you are wearing it. Plus, the extra stretch from the elastic material should help to keep you comfortable while preserving a snug fit. However, if you wear your pants closer to your hips or like a looser fit, then go with the size larger. Remember, returns and exchanges are free, so there is no risk to try one if you’re not sure which belt size to buy!
How is the belt made from recycled water bottles?
The elastic in our belts comes from RePET yarn. This is yarn made out of recycled melted plastic that is formed into beads, which are then melted again and spun into a polyester thread. This material is both durable and environmentally friendly, making it a great choice for eco-friendly fashion.
If you want to learn more about RePET yarn, check out a YouTube video on RePET yarn and you can watch it being made.
What if I need to exchange my belt?
Exchanges are free! Email us at email@example.com with your order number. If you don’t have your order number handy, we can look it up. Let us know which product you want in exchange. We will email you a label that you print and tape to your original packaging. Simply drop it into your mailbox or a USPS collection box with the return label. Once we receive it, we will mail you the belt you want in exchange — on our dime. The whole process is quick and easy-peasy. For more info on exchanges and returns, check out our shipping and returns page.
Why is my JeltX smaller than the first one I bought?
We made the Black JeltX five inches shorter because many people found it too long, which created excess bulk. This belt is designed to fit up to a 45” waist. We do know that many people need the extra length, however, so we designed the Jelt Venture belt — which is wider, longer, tougher and stronger than the JeltX. If you still love your JeltX and want the extra five inches, buy the Navy JeltX, which comes in the longer size that fits everyone up to a 50” waist.
